Anchor text is the text that is used to link back to your site. Many people will place a link back to their sites using the words "click here". This adds no value to your link as the anchor text tells Google or Yahoo that your site is about "click here". However, if your site is about fuzzy dice and you use the words "fuzzy dice" as anchor text, then the search engines will know your site is about fuzzy dice. Simple steps like this can increase the value of your backlinks and increase website traffic.
